Freddy Fender, born Baldemar Huerta inside San Benito, Texas on June 4, 1937, is a Tejano, country, and rock and roll musician, known for his work as a solo creative person & in the groups Los Super Seven and the Texas Tornados.

Early Years
As a kid, Baldemar & his parents travelled throughout a United States as migrant domestic paws. At the age of Sixteen, Baldemar quit school & began a 3 month hitch in the United States Marines. He returned to Texas and played bars and honky-tonks throughout the south, mostly to Latino audiences. Inside 1957, he released deuce songs to moderate profits within Mexico and South America, Spanish versions of Elvis Presley's "Don't Be Cruel", and Harry Belafonte's "Jamaica Farewell". Inside 1959, Baldemar changed his name to Freddy Fender. He took Fender from the headstock of his guitar, and Freddy because it sounded dependable to him. He so headed for California.

Initial Success
Inside 1959, Fender recorded "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights." A song became popular inside 1960, but he was beset by legal troubles when he & the band member were arrested for narcotics possesion. When the both season prison term, Fender ended up within New Orleans, Louisiana, where he would spend the next 5 years.

Per prevent of the 1960s, Fender was back in Texas working as a mechanic, and attending the local junior college, patch merely swimming music on the weekends.

Number One Pop and Country
Around 1974, Fender recorded "Before The Next Teardrop Falls." the only was selected for national distribution, & became a first hit on the Billboard Country and Pop stock and index charts. His next little joe singles, including the remaking of "Wasted Days", totally hit a first spot on the Billboard United states stock and index charts.

When you took a next pack years, Fender got many major united states hits, including a There are no. I hits "Secret Love" (1975) & "You'll Lose a Good Thing" (1976).

Texas Tornadoes
In the 1990s, Fender teamed up sustaining fellow Tex-Mex musicians Doug Sahm, Flaco Jimenez and Augie Myers to form the Texas Tornados, whose work was widely acclaimed. Resulting a dying of Sahm, a production of the Tornadoes slowed.

Fender today
Last, Freddy Fender has signed the locate the major label, & continues to sing, play & tour from either his base within Texas.
